Minutes of Meeting held on 2nd November, 2021
- Cllr. Osborne chaired the monthly meeting of the Parish Council which was held in The School Hall with Cllrs. I Franklyn, C Smith, P Chapman, C Pallett, S Smith, J Shepherd, County Cllr. Nicky Chopak and four members of the Public attending

Bude Area Network
The meeting began with Simon Beasley and Alan Whittle the Chairman & Vice-Chairman of Bude Area Network talking about their work. This involves Bude & Stratton Area and ten joining Parish Councils. They meet monthly on Microsoft Teams. They are also involved with the Cross Border Health Plan. They want Parish Councils to speak to them on matters so that they can speak as one voice.

Parking at the School
The Head Mistress Mrs Mikaela Rofe spoke on the new parking arrangements at the school.

Declaration of Interest/Dispensation
Cllr. J Shepherd declared an interest in Item 7 and Cllr P Chapman declared an interest in Item 10 and both left the room at the appropriate time.

Minutes
The minutes had been Emailed to all Councillors to read and these were agreed and signed as correct.

Balance at Bank
It was reported that the balance at the bank is:- £12,012.98 in the Current A/C and £1,651.81 in the Primrose A/C

Holy Well
Mrs Mary Carter advised that the fencing needs replacing at the Holy Well. It was decided to get a couple of estimates to do the job and discuss again at next months meeting.

Telephone Box
It was reported that the light in the kiosk does not work. Cllr. Smith will look into this. Also the kiosk needs repainting and Cllr Pallett offered to do this.

Online Planning Training
This is Planning Training for Local Councils. It is on Microsoft Teams on the 30th November 9.30-10.30am. Clerk to send Email with link to Cllr. Pallett who will attend.

Planning Application PA21/09489
Straw bedded agricultural shed for housing livestock – Hele Barton, Week St. Mary, Holsworthy – Reply to Cornwall Council saying that Five Councillors support this Application and one Councillor objected.

Speeding in Jacobstow
Email received from a Parishioner, Steve Connelly, complaining about the speed of parents taking their children to and from the local school. He says it is a 30mph area but that is far too fast for the road through the village. Would it be possible to get “20 is Plenty” or other signs. Cllr. Chopak advised that you can only get this in a town area not in a small village.

Email from Oliver Jones
- Oliver Jones says he is arranging for a Jetter to clear the gully also one has collapsed.
- He is looking into the question of the missing sign.
- The road from Trefrida Cottage to Trefrida Farm is not a highway issue it is on the track to the farm. The farmer will dig up and repair.

Councillor Matters
- Climate and Ecology Bill - Cllr. Pallett reported on this. It was agreed to support the Climate and Ecology Emergency (CEE)Bill that responds to the emergency of our natural world, our parks, villages and towns, our landscapes and wildlife. Proposed we support Cllr. C Pallett
Seconded Cllr. C. Smith. - Mr Andrew Vogel had cleared the gutters etc. at the Village Hall. An account will be sent amounting to £72.00
