Jacobstow Village, Cornwall

Welcome to the Jacobstow Village web site.

This site has been designed to give you a brief introduction to the village and also point you in the right direction for any organisation, club or volunteer group in the village you may be interested in. The village lies just off the A39, approximately half way between Camelford and Bude and about five minutes drive from the beach at Crackington Haven - you can hear the sea on still nights! The Norman church of St James lies in the middle of the village and we also have two other churches within our boundaries. As we are in a rural situation the views and walks in and around the village are outstanding.

We are a small community with a lot of support from various sections of the village for different interests, as you can see from the navigation keys on the side of this home page. Contact details are included in the information, so please feel free to get in touch.

As the Summer holidays start and the weather looks good, why not start discovering the newly repaired footpaths around the village, some work has already been done making stiles and gates more accessible and safe with more improvements to come. Also, we are launching the Jacobstow in Bloom section in your Journal, why not take a photo of your lovely Summer blooms and email them to us at jacobstowjournal@gmail.com.

Please pay attention to the letter from Sue Russell on page 19 of your Journal and be a responsible dog owner - not just by NOT using the school grounds, but also by making full use of the dog waste bins located in the village.

As usual for this time of year, regular clubs and meetings are being pared back, there will be no Parish Council meeting in August. But, if you fancy living on the edge, the Jubilee Club are off for a Mystery Trip on Monday 12th August. Where will they end up?

Enjoy the Summer and don't forget - Slip, Slap, Slop (slip on a t shirt, slap on a hat and slop on some sun lotion).
