Minutes of meeting held on 5th December, 2023

  1. Public Question Time

    A member of the Public spoke to complain about the empty farmhouse at the Council Farm, Broadlands, Jacobstow. The farm is being farmed but the house has been empty for several years. This has been reported several times. County Cllr. Nicky Chopak will look into this again.

  2. Cllr. Chapman chaired the monthly meeting with Cllrs. I Franklyn, J Shepherd, S. Smith N Osborne, A Vogel, County Cllr. Nicky Chopak, Mrs D.A. Turner (Clerk) and one member of the public attending. Apologies received from Cllr. C Smith.

  3. Declaration of Interest/Dispensations

    No declarations in respect of this Agenda.

  4. Minutes

    The minutes of the previous meeting had been Emailed to all Councillors and were agreed and signed.

  5. Balance at Bank

    It was reported that the balance at the bank is £14,992.93 in the Current a/c and £4,340.53 in the Solar a/c.

  6. Cornwall Council

    Cornwall Council had approved Planning Application No 23/02668 - Land adjoining Tresan, Eden Road, Wainhouse Corner.

  7. Accounts to pay:-

    • Chris Lloyd - £250.00 - Footpath repairs
      Proposed to pay Cllr, S Smith Seconded Cllr. Vogel
    • Clerks Salary - £627.24 (Salary £550.00 Expenses £77.24)
      Proposed to pay Cllr. S Smith Seconded Cllr. J Shepherd

  8. Councillor matters

    1. Clerk to speak to the Hall committee again regarding installing broadband in the Hall. It was mentioned that a rough estimate of cost would be £100 for a hub and £18.99 per month for usage.
    2. Clerk to find out if they could transfer an amount of money into an account gaining interest.
    3. It was decided not to have a meeting in January 2024.
