Jacobstow Village, Cornwall

Welcome to the Jacobstow Village web site.

This site has been designed to give you a brief introduction to the village and also point you in the right direction for any organisation, club or volunteer group in the village you may be interested in. The village lies just off the A39, approximately half way between Camelford and Bude and about five minutes drive from the beach at Crackington Haven - you can hear the sea on still nights! The Norman church of St James lies in the middle of the village and we also have two other churches within our boundaries. As we are in a rural situation the views and walks in and around the village are outstanding.

We are a small community with a lot of support from various sections of the village for different interests, as you can see from the navigation keys on the side of this home page. Contact details are included in the information, so please feel free to get in touch.

UPCOMING EVENTS

July brings lovely long Summer days and balmy evenings....well, that's the plan. Why not weave a few village activities into your plans to really make the most of the Summer!

The Jubilee Club are off to Sidmouth on 4th July, contact Mo and Fern on 230428 to book your place.

Paloma Faith is playing at the Wyldes on the 8th July, they really are getting the big names there now, worth a look.

The WI are having a talk from a representative from Cornwall Blood Bikes on the evening of the 12th July, why not pop along, I'm sure you will get a very warm welcome.

Why not make the most of the weather and join the Jacobstow Amblers for a walk, ring Mary on 230656 for more details.

Jacobstow Church are holding their annual Revel and Sunday Concert on 22nd July at 7pm, Launceston Male Voice Choir are going to be there and Guest Artists, tea will follow in the Parish Hall.

Finally, St Genny and District Horticultural Society will have their annual exhibition in the Legion Hall on Friday 27th July, all times etc are listed on page 35 of your Journal, contact Jen Cowling on 230756 for a Schedule or pop into Wainhouse Stores.

Regular events you may want to support are:

Mondays - Cubs from 6.30pm at the Scout hut. Brownies from 4.30pm at Canworthy Water Sunday School

Tuesdays - Scouts from 6.30pm at the Scout hut

Tuesdays - Rainbows 5.45pm – 7.00pm, Guides 7.00pm - 8.30pm both in the Parish Hall

First Tuesday of month - 7.30pm. Parish Council meet in the parish hall. Why not come along and see how decisions are made?

Wednesdays - Beavers 6.00pm – 7.00pm at the Scout hut

2nd and 4th Thursday (recycling weeks) Coffee Club in the Parish Hall 10.30am

Second Thursday of month - WI meet in the village hall
